FORT MYERS, Fla.(Aug. 30, 2010) – Local community leader and candidate for State Representative in District 73, Cole Peacock, received the endorsement of Democratic gubernatorial candidate and Florida Chief Financial Officer, Alex Sink today.

In a statement, Sink wrote, “I have worked with Cole Peacock over the last decade, and seen firsthand his efforts as a business leader and his understanding of the values of Lee County. A product of the Lee County public school system, Cole has spent his entire life investing in the people of the Fort Myers-area and has been actively involved in a number of organizations including the American Red Cross, Make-A-Wish Foundation, Lee County Education Foundation and Greater Fort Myers Chamber of Commerce.”
Sink adds her support to a growing list of endorsements Peacock has received including the Florida Education Association, Island Coast Educators, International Association of Firefighters and Paramedics – Local 1826, and the Florida Roofing, Sheet Metal and Air Conditioning Contractors.
“In order to remake Florida’s economy, as Governor I will need strong legislators who support my business plan for Florida,” Sink said. “Cole Peacock has the necessary leadership and judgment to be such a leader. I’m proud to extend my support and endorsement to my friend, Cole Peacock, for State Representative in District 73.”
“It means a great deal to be endorsed by our next governor, Alex Sink, and I look forward to working closely with Alex to help re-vitalize Lee County and communities across Florida. It’s time for a positive voice in the State House, and I will be the positive choice for Lee County,” Peacock said.
Peacock is running for the seat where he had his first job out of college, as a legislative aide for former State Representative Keith Arnold.
“Not only did I learn the legislative process working in a Representative’s office, but I will now be able to bring the experience of working for leading Florida businesses like Chico’s and Hope Hospice as well as my involvement with the Florida Chamber of Commerce and Florida Retail Federation.”
Peacock said that the focus of his pro-business and pro-human services campaign is about finding ways to re-think, re-invent, and re-vitalize the economy in our communities.
He has more than 12 years of executive level experience in corporate, agriculture and manufacturing industries, and 14 years of governmental experience. He has administered campaigns for governor, state senate and representative and mayoral races. Peacock has been active in campaigns on the federal, state, and local levels and has been an active voice in educating the local constituency in matters affecting them through speaking engagements on behalf of the Florida Chamber of Commerce, local chamber functions, legislative roundtables and through moderating five years worth of local political debates.

Peacock is a member of the 2009 Leadership Florida Class, the Florida and Greater Fort Myers chambers, past member of the executive board for the Florida Retail Federation and treasurer for the Foundation for Lee County Public Schools. He also serves on a number of nonprofit boards, including acting as chair of the Boys & Girls Club – Be Great Campaign, chair of the American Red Cross of Lee County and vice chairman of the Edison-Ford Winter Estates.

Please join us on
Thursday, August 12 from 5:30 – 7:30
at
the Edison Restaurant,
located at 3583 McGregor Boulevard, Fort Myers
, for a casual fundraising evening of Beer, Blues and Barbeque
In support of our home-town candidate for
State Representative, District 73
Cole Peacock

With so many folks in Lee County and throughout the state going through difficult and uncertain times, our area needs a new voice and a new perspective in the state legislature.
We need someone with real-world business experience, not just business sense, to work towards enhancing the way of life for everyone in Lee County.
We need a true fiscal conservative with a heart for their hometown.
We need someone who will end the partisan bickering and focus on what is in the best interest of working families in our community.
My name is Cole Peacock and I bring all of these to this race.
As an experienced business leader with a get-it-done approach to solving the problems we face, I believe it’s time to set aside ideologies and partisanship which only divide our community.
We have a great deal of work to do to turn our state around, to bring real jobs back to our community, and I have the track-record – and the very strong belief – that we can do this.

Minimum suggested contribution $25
Up to a maximum contribution of $500

(Fort Myers, Fla. – July 8, 2010) – Local businessman Cole Peacock has been endorsed by the Florida Roofing, Sheet Metal and Air Conditioning Contractors Association, Inc. Peacock, owner of R C Peacock Consulting LLC, is running as a Democrat for the State Representative District 73 seat.

The FRSA was founded in 1922 to bring together contractors as well as businesses with related interests. FRSA’s purpose is to foster and encourage a high standard of business ethics among its members and to inform the general public of the importance of doing business with competent and ethical firms. FRSA encourages quality through research, education, and recognition of competence. FRSA represents the interests and acts as the voice of its membership before government and regulatory bodies of all kinds and works to improve the overall industry in keeping with the general purposes of the Association.

“As a Republican, I support Cole Peacock’s effort because he is the best person qualified for the position,” said David A. Cumming, immediate past president of FRSA. “Who else really knows the importance of representing business in government and has experienced it? Cole has only one special interest and that is getting Fort Myers and Lee County back on its feet.”

“I am honored to be endorsed by the FRSA,” Peacock said. “Florida’s building industry is a vital part of our economy and an area that has suffered in recent years. I look forward to representing these contractors in Tallahassee.”

“Not only did I learn the legislative process working in a Representatives office, but I will now be able to bring the experience of working for leading Florida businesses like Chico’s and Hope Hospice as well as groups including the Florida Chamber of Commerce and the Florida Retail Federation.”

Peacock, owner of R C Peacock Consulting LLC, is running as a Democrat for the State Representative District 73 seat.

“Cole has solid experience working in both business and government,” said FEA President Andy Ford. “He’s a product of our public schools and his mother works for the school system in Lee County. All these experiences make Cole someone who understands the needs of the vast majority of Floridians. He would be an outstanding addition to the Florida House.”

The Florida Education Association is the state’s largest association of professional employees, with more than 140,000 members.
“I am honored to be recommended by the teachers in our County and State. I am a product of the local school public school system and my children attend public school,” Peacock said. “I firmly believe that to have an academically competitive State, it is our responsibility to invest in our future today, through the education and promotion of our children.”

“Cole Peacock is a man who not only listens to the concerns of the teachers of Lee County, but he is a man who listens with an open heart, open mind and takes action to help make a difference,” said Susan Blust, Lee County elementary school teacher. “Being a teacher in the Lee County School District, I feel Cole has given sincere attention to the needs, concerns and opinions of local educators.”
